A gospel concert is March 1, 2 p.m., at Kensington United Church. It will feature Jericho Road and the Stiff Family who will perform and share

P.E.I. Symphony Orchestra will present True North on March 1, 2:30 p.m., at Zion Presbyteri­an Church, Charlottet­own. Conductor Melanie Léonard presents an afternoon of Canadian masterpiec­es, including works by composers Peter Charles Allen, Sid Robinovitc­h, Jocelyn Morlock and Alice Ping Yee Ho. There will also be a performanc­e by french horn player Darrin MacBeath. Before the concert, there will be a free preconcert talk in Zion’s youth chapel at 1:30 p.m. Léonard and MacBeth will discuss the performanc­e to follow and be available for questions. A special concert to honour women will be held at Saint Paul’s

Anglican Church on March 8 on Internatio­nal Women’s Day. To celebrate this special day, Phase II and Friends will perform a musical tribute to women, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Saint Paul’s Anglican Church at the corner of Grafton and Church streets. Special guests will be P.E.I. Lt.-Gov. Antoinette Perry, Sean Casey, MP for Charlottet­own, MLA Natalie Jameson and Charlottet­own Mayor Philip Brown. Admission is free to this event.

The Stiff Family Gospel Bluegrass

Band will perform at a fundraisin­g concert March 8, 2 p.m., at Beaconsfie­ld Carriage House, 2 Kent St., Charlottet­own. Also on stage will be Bluegrass Revival. The P.E.I. Bluegrass and Old Time Music Society, in associatio­n with Beaconsfie­ld Historic House, presents this concert as a fundraiser for the 35th P.E.I.
