In loving memory of Ethel Lorna (Pickering) Yeo who passed away peacefully at Wedgewood
Manor, Summerside on Sunday, October 13,
2019 with her family by her side. Ethel was born in Sherbrooke, PEI on April 16, 1920, the youngest child of the late Leonard and Eva
(Yeo) Pickering. On September 27, 1939, Ethel married Wyman Yeo. Following their marriage, they bought a farm in North St. Eleanor’s where they raised their two daughters. Ethel was always a country girl at heart who loved being around all the farm animals. She and Wyman spent many long hours working together on the farm where they lived for over 73 years. She enjoyed horseback riding, skating, snowmobiling and riding her motorcycle. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Weeks and her husband Morris, grandson Gregory Weeks and his wife Cheryl, granddaughter LeeAnn Weeks and great granddaughter Madeline Goguen. Also survived by nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Wyman (2013), daughter Marion Gamble Gillis (1993), sons-in-law Robert Gamble (1974), Carlyle Gillis (1991), and sisters Lucy Paynter, Gladys Paynter, Muriel Thompson, Doris Wilson, Sadie Thompson Andrew, Lawrence and Winnifred Pickering in infancy.
Her funeral was held October 16, 2019 in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel, Kensington with Rev. Cory Somers officiating. Pianist and soloist was Kirk Neville. Pallbearers were John White, Bill Thompson, Don Thompson, Wayne Simmons, Lloyd Muttart, and Bradley Mills. Flower bearers were LeeAnn Weeks, Madeline Goguen and Cheryl Weeks. Interment was in the People’s Cemetery, Summerside.

To Wedgewood Manor Staff, we would like to extend our thanks for the loving care given to Ethel for four and a half years. We would like to express our sincerest thanks to family and friends for all their support. To those who brought food to our home, sent cards, offered condolences online, floral tributes, charitable donations in Ethel’s memory, visited the funeral home, pallbearers and flower bearers – thank you very much. A special thanks to Rev. Cory Somers, Kirk Neville and to Ira Moase, John MacIsaac and the Davison Funeral Home for their caring and professionalism. Also, thanks to our friends Dale and Janice Parsons, and Gerald and Fern Huestis for organizing the reception at our home following the funeral. We will always be thankful for your kindness.
