Dalton (Smith) Emma of Brantford (formerly of P.E.I).It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful mother on October 15th in her 88th year, after a brief illness. Beloved daughter of the late Catherine and Lawrence Smith of Tracadie Cross, P.E.I. Much loved wife of the late Melvin Dalton. Cherished mother of Sharon (the late Peter) Sabo, Darlene Jewer, Karen (Greg) Alford. Loving grandmothe­r of Danielle and Melanie Jewer, Dalton and Jaycee Alford and the late Ashley Sabo. Will be fondly remembered by sisters Phyllis (Edward) McQuaid of N.S. and Sr. Bernice Smith, Lori Birt and brother Gerry Anderson, all of P.E.I. Survived by sisters-in-law Thelma Woolridge (the late Leigth) and Marie Dalton (the late Emmett) of P.EI. and brother-in-law Neil McDonald (the late Edna) of Canton, Mass. Emma will also be forever remembered by many nieces and nephews and her friends of Grey Street, where she lived for almost 50 years. Predecease­d by her siblings Bert (Eileen) Smith, Lucy (Bernie) Doyle, Mary (Terence) Reilly, Reg ( Mary C), Marion (Jack) Gilbert, Ann (Jim) Latimer, Kay (Bud) McKinnon, Patrick (Marion) Smith. Predecease­d sisters-in-law Rita (John) McClellan, Evelyn (Larry) Gill, Sr. Pauline Dalton, brothers-inlaw Bill, Ivan (Theresa), Arnold (Connie), Chester (Charlotte), Edward, Frank (Dorothy), Lawrence. Visitation will be held at the Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home & Chapel, 96 West Street on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday from 11:30am to 12:30pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray St. Brantford (60 Attendees max). Cremation to follow. Due to COVID restrictio­n masks are to be worn and all provincial physical distance measures will be in place.
