Bluefield High School Holland College staff will be here Nov. 3 for a presentati­on to students in Grade 12 who sign up in advance.

The school’s Remembranc­e Day virtual assembly is Nov. 10.

The PEITF Teachers Convention is Nov. 12-13.

Parent-teacher Interviews are Nov. 19, 5-7:30 p.m., and Nov. 20, 9 a.m. until noon.

Charlottet­own Rural High School

CRHS Tutor Program is seeking tutors ($15/hour) to be matched with students who are looking for help. Students must be in Grade 11 or 12 to be considered a tutor.

The House of Commons Page Program is seeking applicatio­ns. Each year 40 students from high schools and CEGEPs are selected from across Canada who are attending university full time in one of the four universiti­es in the National Capital Region. They work part time during their first year of study. Nov. 8 is the deadline to apply. More informatio­n is at http://www.ourcommons.ca/page.

UPEI will be here to make a presentati­on to Grade 12 students on Nov. 5, 12:30 p.m., in the cafeteria. Students must sign up in student services by Nov. 4 to attend.

Colonel Gray High School

Carla MacDougall has joined the staff in a four-hour educationa­l assistant position.

Youth worker Johnny Bruce and his wife, Marcie, celebrated the birth of Kinsley Paige, a baby sister for Lauren, on Oct. 24.

Acadia University hosts a lunch time virtual visit Nov. 3 in Room 139. Students who sign up for an advisement meeting, with on-the-spot acceptance, will have the applicatio­n fee waived.

There are no classes Nov. 11 (Remembranc­e Day) or Nov. 12-13 (PEITF annual convention).

Reserve Nov. 19 (6:30-9 p.m.) and Nov. 20 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) for parent-teacher interviews.

Mid-semester report cards will be sent home with students on Nov. 19.

The Colonel Gray Christmas Craft Fair is cancelled for 2020. However, a poinsettia sale is being held to support the band. Kinkora Regional high School

Nov. 5 is school photo retake day.

Nov. 11 is Remembranc­e Day with no classes. There are also no classes Nov. 12-13 due to the annual PEITF convention.

Looking ahead, parent/ teacher interviews are the evening of Nov. 19 and the morning of Nov. 20. Schedule interviews online or call the school.

The school appreciate­s the sponsors, staff, students, parents, grandparen­ts and community members who volunteere­d at or supported the annual Blazer Beef Supper Oct. 24. There were 420 takeout meals sold.

In addition, 2,555 pies were sold for this year’s annual pie fundraiser. The top sellers were Tanner Warren, Ty Sherry and Ashley DesRoches.

The ADP students spearheade­d the Fall Food Drive with the support of KRHS students and staff. It wrapped up Oct. 9 when everything was delivered to the South Shore Food Share. KRHS has been participat­ing in a fall food drive for almost 20 years, and this year about 300 pounds of food were collected for the South Shore Food Share, which serves the communitie­s of Borden-Carleton, Kinkora, and Crapaud.
