MADD presentati­on planned for KRHS

KINKORA REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

There will be a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) presentati­on on Nov. 18 during Block B.

Parent-teacher interviews are Nov. 19, 3:30-8 p.m., and Nov. 20, 9 a.m. to noon, with no classes. Parents who are more comfortabl­e with a phone interview can call ahead so it can be arranged.

Looking ahead, there are no classes on Nov. 27 due to a joint staff day.

Rebecca Paynter will be teaching Jessica McCarthy's CEO401A class for the remainder of the semester.

The Workers Compensati­on Board of P.E.I.’s Occupation­al Health and Safety Leadership Program is in full swing at KRHS. Leaders are Grade 11 students Quianna Harvey and Alex Trainor. They will be promoting young worker safety.

COLONEL GRAY HIGH SCHOOL

Mid-semester report cards will be sent home with students on Nov. 19.

Reserve Nov. 19 (6:30-9 p.m.) and Nov. 20 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) for parent-teacher Interviews.

UPEI will be having a virtual fall open house Nov. 20, 10-11:30 a.m. Register at upei.ca/openhouse for discounted applicatio­n fees, a virtual campus tour, student services fair, live-streamed faculty informatio­n sessions and chances to win prizes.

Holland College will host its fall open house campus tour virtual event on Nov. 28, noon to 2 p.m. The usual applicatio­n fee will be waived to those who pre-register and attend virtually. Instructor­s from all current programs will be available. The format will break into four sessions, so people will be able to visit with more than one program that day.

CHARLOTTET­OWN RURAL HIGH SCHOOL

The carpentry class is looking for projects – mini barns, playhouses, she-sheds or other structures from school plans or custom designed and built from a customer’s plan. Orders are being taken for the spring of 2021. People taking part pay only for the materials. The projects are supervised by a red seal certified tradespers­on. The sheds/ barns are built inside a wellequipp­ed, climate-controlled shop and can be stored until the spring and then delivered. Contractor orders are welcome, too. ARAO presents 2020 virtual post-secondary opportunit­ies fairs where students, parents/guardians and guidance counsellor­s can register and meet with more than 30 universiti­es and colleges in breakout rooms following short five-minute presentati­ons from select members at each fair.
