Employment Services

Training

P.E.I. Farm Technician Apprenticeship 2020 Training Block will be held Jan. 11 to Feb. 12 at the Farm Centre, 420 University Ave., Charlottetown. For the next intake, contact PEIAGSC at 902-892-1091. The program tuition is subsidized 100 per cent, if EI eligible. This registered apprenticeship program combines classroom learning with on-farm experience, earning students a certificate of qualification in farm technician by the Apprenticeship P.E.I.

Experienced drivers are wanted to obtain their airbrakes and class 3A licence. The P.E.I. Agriculture Sector Council will be facilitating these two courses through JVI and Access. Experienced 3A drivers

are wanted to obtain their Class 1 training. Drivers that have received their 3A Training facilitated by PEIAgSC are able to apply. Nominations Nominations for the 2020 Minister's Dedication to Agriculture Award

are open. The ideal candidate is an agricultural employee who, through long serving, dedication, devotion, involvement and thoughtfulness, has contributed to the success and long-term profitability of the agriculture enterprise. Agricultural employers

are encouraged to nominate employees for the 2020 P.E.I. Agriculture Employee of the Year Award. The ideal candidate for this award makes an invaluable contribution to any farm operation.
