Kinkora Regional High School

Final exams begin today and continue until Friday. Feb.

1 is the turn-around day with no classes, and Feb. 2 is the first day of the second semester.

Looking ahead, a parent council meeting will be held Feb. 3 at 6 p.m.

The annual KRHS hockey pool will be starting again, the only fundraiser for school athletics. Stay tuned for more details.

Anyone interested in ordering school clothing can do so at any time using the website: http://kinkora. entripyshops.com/.

To help you explore postsecondary information, the traditional career fair was changed to a virtual presentation this year. All videos have been saved to the AARAO Executive youtube channel. We would encourage all students to visit this page to learn more about post-secondary schools in Atlantic Canada (and a little beyond).

Many thanks to the KRHS parents who will be providing the breakfast program during exams. It is a healthy way to start the day and is always much appreciated.

Colonel Gray High School

On Friday at 7 p.m., an opening reception will be held at The Guild on Queen Street in Charlottetown for an art show featuring students from Colonel Gray and Charlottetown Rural High School called The Young Masters. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Final exams/assessments for first semester begin today and continue until Thursday. Friday will be the possible storm date, if needed. All textbooks must be returned by the student on the day of the exam.

Homeroom students will keep the same lock and locker until the end of the year.

There will be no classes for students on Feb. 1, due to a high school administrative day.

For second semester, Colonel Gray welcomes two new teachers. Gerry Campbell has accepted a fixed-term English position contract until March 12. Christie Stetson will be returning from maternity leave after March break. Also, Ben MacDonald has accepted a 66 per cent physical education position until May 21, when Laura Lindsay will be returning from her maternity leave. Second semester classes start on Feb. 2 for students. Course changes will take place, through homeroom teachers, during the first three days.

Charlottetown Rural High School

Students are writing their final exams for first semester this week.

The official opening for the CRHS/CGHS art show, The Young Masters, opens at The Guild on Queen Street in Charlottetown on Friday, 7-9 p.m. It runs until Feb. 7. The exhibition is open to the public during all open hours at The Guild. Please note, at the opening reception, there will be a limit of 20 attendees at a time.

Students seeking a parking spot are reminded that parking spots are not guaranteed to anyone. Applications for renewing a spot or applying for a spot are due today by 12 p.m. There are only 130 spots available to students, so not everyone will get a spot. The school continues to work with the city regarding plowing the ball field parking lot.
