P.E.I. students eligible for 250 new entrance awards, three full tuition awards

-

Holland College will provide 250 $1,000 entrance awards for Island students who are starting a program in September.

“We are well aware of the financial challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has presented for some P.E.I. students and their families,” Sandy MacDonald, Holland College president, said in a release.

“We want local students to attend our institution next year and hope these entrance awards will encourage them to do so.”

Funding for the Define What’s Next - Island Entrance Awards and for three full tuition entrance awards valued at up to $10,000 each was possible because of the reduction of the college’s costs for line items such as travel allowances in the 202½022 budget due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Students must apply for acceptance in a Holland College program before they will be considered for a Define What’s Next award. Once they have applied to a program, they should apply for an award, by March 25, through the scholarships and awards page on the Holland College website

The three recipients of the tuition credits will be determined in three random draws to be held on Feb. 26, March 12 and March 26.

All Island students who apply to a Holland College program before those dates are automatically entered into the draws.

In addition to the 250 Define What’s Next - Island Entrance Awards and the three tuition credits, Holland College has hundreds of other entrance awards, bursaries and scholarships.
