Art in the Open seeking artist proposals for 2021

-

Art in the Open is inviting artists to submit their artistic proposals for the 11th annual summer festival.

The festival’s main event will take place from 4 p.m. to midnight on Aug. 28.

The festival is looking for unique submissions to transform downtown Charlottetown’s green spaces into magical, memorable, creative spaces that will be shared by all members of the community. Art projects should invite attendees of the festival to engage with and participate in the art in some capacity, understanding that there is a possibility of COVID-19 restrictions continuing forward meaning capacity and/ or participation limits being in place.

Art in the Open will be celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2021, and organizers plan to make this 11th annual event a celebration of the past 10 festivals.

With the help of Thinking Big Digital Services Inc., a new website has been launched featuring all the information needed to apply for Art in the Open 2021.

"Our goal was to create a website that serves artists, volunteers, festival-goers and supporters. Empowering the Art in the Open team to maintain the website on their own was also a crucial factor," said Rhyanne Beatty, UX designer at Thinking Big.

Submissions should be new, innovative and represent excellence in particular fields of art. The deadline for submissions is April 6th. To download the artists application, visit www.artintheopenpei. org Contact: artintheopepei@ gmail.com.
