Montague Regional High School hosting Relay for Life event on May 30

MONTAGUE REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

MRHS will be hosting a Relay for Life event on May 30 to raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society. A video was shared recently in homerooms, and students took part in a pep rally to promote this event.

Childcare students hosted their first Little Vikings Day Camp of the semester, with a theme of It's Farm Day last week. Students and daycampers had a fun filled day.

The concert band performed at P.E.I. Band days last week.

MRHS Class of 2024 hoodies can now be ordered online.

Report cards will go home April 17.

Parent-teacher interviews are April 18, 5-7:30 p.m., and April 19, 9 a.m. to noon.

COLONEL GRAY HIGH SCHOOL

On April 8, youth worker Johnny Bruce and his wife, Marcie, celebrated the birth of their son “Grady” Jack, at 8 lbs. 8 oz., a baby brother for Lauren and Kinsley.

Grade 10 and 11 students will be registerin­g for next year’s courses between until April 22. Report cards will go home with students on April 17. Please keep these in a safe place and do not discard them. In the future, report cards may be required for such things as immigratio­n documentat­ion or attendance verificati­on.

Parent-teacher interviews are April 18 (6:30-9 p.m.) and April 19 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) with teachers located in the gym and cafeteria.

Earth Day is April 22 when everyone is encouraged to wear green. The month will include a free plant giveaway day, decorating and delivering paper bags for Sobeys, lunch waste sorting games, environmen­tal announceme­nts, neighbourh­ood garbage pickup, chalk board displays and a clothing swap.

There will be an Internatio­nal Coffee House on April 25 at 7 p.m., hosted by The KEY Club, Diversity Club and the Safe Grad Committee. It is a night to celebrate the wonderful diversity at Colonel Gray High School. There will be a talent show, with internatio­nal foods at intermissi­on, trivia questions throughout the evening and even a cake auction for Safe Grad. Tickets are $5 with donations at the door.

IB Exams begin May 1. Youth ages 16 and 17 can participat­e in the YMCA

Summer Work Student Exchange for six weeks in Quebec during July and August, while getting paid. Check info-swse@ymcagta.org or the job bulletin board in student services for more informatio­n.
