Rural Hamilton house fire sends man to hospital
A man was transported to hospital without vital signs from a home fire in rural Upper Stoney Creek.
“We have a fully involved fire that’s gone through the roof,” said Hamilton Fire spokesperson Dave Christopher at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Fire crews were called to the single storey, backsplit home at 206 5th Rd. E., near Tapleytown, at about 9:45 p.m. Nineteen units were on scene of the rural fire, without immediate access to fire hydrants, he said.
“Crews will be here for a while,” as they continue to work on the fire, Christopher said.
Hamilton EMS confirmed at 10:30 p.m. that a man without vital signs was on his way to a Hamilton hospital.
The cause of fire was unknown.
