Friday flicks Hamilton Public Library free Friday Family Film Nights start tonight. Drop in, relax and enjoy a full schedule of movies every Friday at the Central and Turner Park branches. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and movies begins at 6:30. The July 22 selection is “Daddy’s Home.” The library branches are located at Central library, 55 York Blvd., and Turner Park, 362 Rymal Rd. E. hpl.ca Films in the forest Bring your blanket, sleeping bag or folding chair to watch the show on Saturday. The first film scheduled for this summer at Christie Lake, 1000 Highway 5, Dundas, is “The Good Dinosaur.” Arrive by 7:30 p.m., the film begins at dusk. Admission is $15 per car. conservati­onhamilton.ca Cruise the harbour Bring the family aboard the Hamilton Harbour Queen and see the sights aboard a 90-minute narrated tour that provides unique views of the natural, recreation­al and industrial aspects of the city. Cruises leave from Pier 8, 47 Discovery Dr., mostly hourly between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Reservatio­ns are recommende­d, but walk-ups are welcome. Many dancers and singers representi­ng every major North American native cultural group dressed in their finest regalia are expected to attend. It showcases traditiona­l and contempora­ry art and crafts. Gates open Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. Admission is $10 and $2 for children and a weekend pass is $15. grpowwow.ca Safe to swim? Pier 4 Park Beach and Valens Conservati­on Area Beach and are closed as tested July 18 and 19. Bayfront Beach is closed for the 2016 swimming season due to a history of high levels of bacteria and/or toxins. In Halton, Brant Street Beach, Bronte Beach Park and Prospect Park Old Beach are closed as tested July 14.
