Hagersvill­e Rocks

Get out for some summer outdoor fun as Hagersvill­e Rocks Music Festival beats the heat Saturday from 3:30 to 11:30 p.m. Enjoy the all-Canadian lineup featuring Gord Bamford, Alan Frew, Mudmen, Dry Country, Desire and Ty Baynton. Tickets are $40 for general admission; kids 12 and under are admitted free when accompanie­d by a ticketed adult. Films in the Forest

Bring your blanket, sleeping bag or folding chair to watch the show on Saturday. The first film scheduled for this summer at Christie Lake, 1000 Highway 5 in Dundas, is “The Good Dinosaur.” Arrive by 7:30 p.m. to watch the film, which begins at dusk. Cruise the harbour

Bring the family aboard the Hamilton Harbour Queen and see the sights during a 90-minute narrated tour that provides unique views of the natural, recreation­al and industrial aspects of the city. Wild Waterworks winter

They’re celebratin­g the holidays down at Wild Waterworks. Meet Santa, decorate candy canes and cookies and more on Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Regular admission rates apply. Wild Waterworks is located at 680 Van Wagners Beach Rd.

Powwow time

The Grand River Powwow is at Chiefswood Park, Six Nations of the Grand River, 254 Brant County Rd. in Ohsweken. Many dancers and singers representi­ng every major North American native cultural group dressed in their finest regalia are expected to attend. It showcases traditiona­l and contempora­ry art and crafts. Gates open Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. Admission is $10 and $2 for children. A weekend pass is $15. grpowwow.ca

Mini flyers

Burlington Radio Control Modelers host Warbirds Over the Bay at Bayfield Field, 1600 King Rd. in Burlington. Participan­ts will bring their naval aircraft, Hellcats, Corsairs, Swordfish and Tomcats. The park will be bustling with model flights, food and raffles. Hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s theme is Fleet Aircraft.

Picnic at the AGH

The Art Gallery of Hamilton is holding a summer family picnic on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Focus is on environmen­tal stewardshi­p, particular­ly as it relates to Hamilton’s escarpment and green spaces. It’s a full day of activities including art-making, music, special guests from the Royal Botanical Gardens, Environmen­t Hamilton and the Hamilton Public Library. Safe to swim?

Pier 4 Park Beach and Valens Conservati­on Area Beach and are closed as tested July 18 and 19. Bayfront Beach is closed for the 2016 swimming season due to a history of high levels of bacteria and/or toxins. In Halton, Brant Street Beach, Bronte Beach Park and Prospect Park Old Beach are closed as tested July 14.
