New ze­bra-stripe cross­ings be­ing painted on east Moun­tain

The city will be us­ing the sum­mer months to in­stall ze­bra-stripe mark­ings at school cross­ings at a num­ber of in­ter­sec­tions on the east Moun­tain.

At the urg­ing of Ward 6 Coun. Tom Jack­son, the high-vis­i­bil­ity mark­ings will be in­stalled at Up­per Ot­tawa and Queens­dale, Up­per Ot­tawa and 10th Av­enue, and Up­per Gage and Brucedale.

The in­ter­sec­tion of Up­per Gage and Brucedale is also get­ting pedes­trian pri­or­ity cross­ing lights this sum­mer, Jack­son said. Cross­ing lights will be in­stalled on Fen­nell at East 37th in 2017.

Jack­son said the ze­bra-stripe mark­ings will also be in­stalled at Up­per Ot­tawa and Brucedale, Up­per Gage and Royal Vista, and Up­per Ot­tawa and Larch.

In the fu­ture, the mark­ings will be in­stalled at nine other in­ter­sec­tions in the ward, in­clud­ing Up­per Gage and Ninth Av­enue, Up­per Ot­tawa and Limeridge, Up­per Gage at the Lin­coln Alexan­der Park­way of­framp, Up­per Gage at Lo­con­der, Up­per Gage at Stone Church, Up­per Ot­tawa at Stone Church, and Up­per Ot­tawa at Sil­ver­ton.
