PEDESTRIAN CROSSOVER RULES

By law:

Drivers and cyclists must stop and yield to pedestrian­s wanting to cross the road at the marked yield bar.

Drivers and cyclists must wait for pedestrian­s to completely reach the other side of the road before driving through.

Drivers and cyclists cannot pass other vehicles within 30 metres before a pedestrian crossover.

Pedestrian­s must make sure drivers or cyclists have enough time to stop before they begin crossing.

Pedestrian­s must make it clear they intend to cross and make sure drivers or cyclists see them before they start to cross.

Pedestrian­s must cross when traffic has come to a complete stop and they feel it is safe.
