GRAHAM ROCKINGHAM’S BEST BETS

-

STEVE STRONGMAN

Juno-winning Hamilton bluesman teams up with this keyboard buddy Jesse O’Brien for an intimate acoustic concert upstairs at Ancaster’s Coach and Lantern pub, 384 Wilson St. E. on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited and this will likely sell out. Advance tickets are available through Strongman’s website stevestrongman.com for $22 (including a $2 handling fee).

HOLD MOMMY’S CIGARETTE

Shelley Marshall’s one-woman performance in “Hold Mommy’s Cigarette” will make you want to go out and hug Marshall for writing such a deeply personal play dealing with mental health and healing. Marshall returns to her hometown for a performance to benefit the YWCA Transitional Living Shelter. Wed., Sept. 28; Fri., Sept. 30; Sat., Oct. 1 at 8 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. (with Lori Yates). Hamilton Theatre Inc, 140 MacNab St. N. $25.

TOM GREEN

Tom Green is utterly outrageous. You’ve seen him in movies like “Road Trip,” on the cover of Rolling Stone and on his own hour-long talk show “Tom Green Live.” Now you can see him live at Hamilton’s Yuk Yuk’s, Jackson Square, Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1. Two shows each night at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Hamilton’s own funnyman Patrick Coppolino opens all four shows. Tickets are $35 (tax in) in advance at yukyuks.com/Hamilton.

HELL BENT ROCKERS

Hamilton’s Hell Bent Rockers are among the acts playing a night of high-octane surf and rockabilly on Friday, Sept. 30 at This Ain’t Hollywood, 345 James St. N. Also on the bill is B. Bop DeVille and Toronto’s metal surf masters The King Beez. This will be a wild one. The fun starts at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.

BEAUTS

Beauts isn’t your typical head-bashing band you see playing Doors Pub Taco Joint and Metal Bar (56 Hess St. S.). This Halifax five-piece actually has a nice melodic bounce to their pop-rock. Check out the band’s sophomore EP “Waves/Wash.” You can almost sing along to it. The Doors Pub may never be the same. The Beauts perform with Dead Broke on Saturday, Oct. 1. 10 p.m.
