March for science planned for April 22

Hamilton scientists and science advocates are planning a solidarity march to coincide with an upcoming demonstration in Washington, D.C. for the same cause.

Dismayed by “recent rhetoric,” American scientists plan to march on Washington and cities across the United States.

The Washington D.C. group’s twitter account @ScienceMarchDC, activated Jan. 23, now has close to 300,000 followers.

Local organizer Courtney Sheppard says the Hamilton group, @SciMarchHamOnt, is “in communication with the central organizing team.”

The Hamilton group announced Tuesday that the date for the local march will be April 22.
