Thank God for Coun. Skelly

RE: Skelly and libraries

-

Thank God for Coun. Donna Skelly and any of the other fiscally responsible and literate councillors. It is a councillor’s duty to go through the budget line by line and have an open and honest debate on every item. Times are changing, and many traditional library services have become obsolete. If we left the budget up to council members Aidan Johnson, Matthew Green and Fred Eisenberger, you would see 6 to 8 per cent property tax increases yearly, as they have never yet seen a budget item that they didn’t fall in love with. As far as the “outcry” regarding Skelly’s comments from The Spec, just as many who think are comments are quite reasonable are too busy working to notice the day-to-day non-stories coming out of the chamber.
