Woman charged in Mountain drug bust
A 32-year-old woman is facing drug charges after a bust at an east Mountain home.
Police raided a house and vehicle on Limeridge Road East just after 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
Officers seized a “large quantity” of suspected stolen items, cocaine, marijuana and a Taser, police said in a press release Friday.
Officers also uncovered “other evidence consistent with drug trafficking and proceeds of crime.”
Plainclothes officers assigned to the Mountain station started the investigation after receiving tips about suspected drug trafficking in a residential area, police said.
Chantelle Williams, 32, was arrested and charged Thursday with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, five counts of drug possession, two counts of possession under $5,000, one count of possession over $5,000 and altering a vehicle identification number.
Police say they’re still trying to determine if the suspected stolen property is related to other crimes in Hamilton.
Police said additional updates and information related to any other arrests or charges may be available as the investigation continues.
Also Thursday, police, including canine officers, were seen raiding a home on Torino Drive, which is near Stone Church Road East and Upper Wellington Street Street.
It’s not clear whether the Torino Drive home is related to the Limeridge Road East raid.
Calls to the Division 3 crime manager St. John Curtis weren’t returned Friday.
