RE: Saying thanks

Reflecting on the contributions of Mr. Caplan, one is prompted to contemplate the irony: Why do we express our gratitude to our municipal councillors only after they pass away? Waiting till such tragic events is not just untimely, it seems inappropriate. Accordingly, allow me to express our gratitude to Mr. Chad Collins in Ward 5.

For more than 20 years, Mr. Collins has capably served us in so many projects, developments and progress. Specifically we have: cleaner air, improved flow of traffic, major thoroughfares widened and repaved, numerous traffic calming zones, new sewers, major improvements in Confederation Park, the traffic hub at Eastgate, redevelopment along beach strip, commercial expansion, support for elementary and high schools, support for seniors’ projects, enhancement of recreation centers, support of immigrant groups, the Red Hill Expressway and a 20-30 year plan for future development.
