St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation aims to raise $575,000
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation aims to raise $575,000 by participating in the Around the Bay Road Race in March and the Paris to Ancaster: A Ride for Research in April.
This week, fundraising teams from the community, hospital staff and departments, as well as this year’s fundraising Community Champion, Lu Cacioppo of Deloitte, kicked off their efforts for St. Joe’s.
Funds raised from the two events have supported research in eye medicine, scleroderma, respirology and the intensive care unit (ICU). The funds have also enabled the purchase of a laser to treat retinal disease, maternal fetal monitors and diagnostic equipment for use in the Boris Family Centre for Interventional Radiology and Oncology.
“Whether it’s delivering exceptional patient care today, or conducting research that leads to lifechanging discoveries tomorrow, St. Joe’s is committed to going the distance for the health of our community every single day, ” said Sera Filice-Armenio, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation’s president and CEO. “Now we’re challenging our community to fundraise and go the distance for St. Joe’s.”
Last year, $485,000 was raised through the fundraiser, which only included Around the Bay.
