Inaugural Ontario Economic Report Forecasts Outlook for Local and Provincial Economy: Hamilton Chamber of Commerce

Last week, the Chamber in partnership with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce released our annual economic update, which includes a number of business performance and confidence indicators, along with policy recommendations to address the challenges facing the Ontario econony. Economic outlook data reveals that the unemployment rate in the Hamilton census metropolitan area (CMA) is expected to drop to 5.8 percent (down from 6.2 percent in 2016) and the median residential housing price will be $410,000, reflecting a 4.6 per cent increase over last year.
