Councillors’ free ride

-

RE: On street parking fees

I had the opportunity several times a year to do city business at City Hall. I don’t make a councillor’s salary yet every time I have to do business at City Hall I pay parking (like every other taxpayer). Councillors on the other hand feel we could benefit with more revenue by increasing city street parking. Now wait a minute, I hear that councillors doing city business do not pay parking whatsoever. Let’s start at the bottom with this increase city revenue idea and charge councillors for parking doing City Hall business as well. (After all they can afford to). It is only fair that my tax contribution as well as my City Hall business parking contribution should carry over to our councillors and mayor and every civic employee.

I wonder who said there is No Free Ride. Apparently not the councillors in Hamilton. Ted Lazich, Hamilton
