Hamilton CMA has a high occupancy rate at 96 per cent. That compares to a national average of 91.3 per cent and provincial average of 92.3 per cent. The number suggests the high demand for housing in Hamilton has meant very few residentia­l properties are vacant, analysts say.

Row housing has dramatical­ly increased to 13.5 per cent of housing stock compared to 9.6 per cent in 1996 in Hamilton.
