Police arrest one suspect, search for another in Burlington Apple store theft
BURLINGTON — Halton police have arrested one man and continue to search for a second after more than $6,000 worth of electronics were stolen from the Apple store in Burlington.
Police were called to the store in Mapleview Mall March 19 after $6,219 worth of Apple TVs, wireless headphones and USB storage devices were stolen.
The ensuing investigation led detectives to arrest a 50-year-old Mississauga man and execute a search warrant at his home on Stapleford Terrace in Mississauga. Police seized $64,613 in cash, 43 grams of marijuana and stolen property.
Ardian Sadik Piri is charged with theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 for the purpose of trafficking and possession of marijuana.
He was released on bail is scheduled to return to court May 24.
Halton police continue to look for a second suspect captured on store surveillance. He is described as a white man, between 40 and 50 years old, with dark hair. He was wearing sunglasses, a blue jacket, dark jeans and a checkered shirt.
