Po­lice ar­rest one sus­pect, search for an­other in Burling­ton Ap­ple store theft

BURLING­TON — Hal­ton po­lice have ar­rested one man and con­tinue to search for a sec­ond after more than $6,000 worth of elec­tron­ics were stolen from the Ap­ple store in Burling­ton.

Po­lice were called to the store in Maple­view Mall March 19 after $6,219 worth of Ap­ple TVs, wire­less head­phones and USB stor­age de­vices were stolen.

The en­su­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion led de­tec­tives to ar­rest a 50-year-old Mis­sis­sauga man and ex­e­cute a search war­rant at his home on Sta­ple­ford Ter­race in Mis­sis­sauga. Po­lice seized $64,613 in cash, 43 grams of mar­i­juana and stolen prop­erty.

Ar­dian Sadik Piri is charged with theft over $5,000, pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime over $5000, pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime over $5,000 for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana.

He was re­leased on bail is sched­uled to return to court May 24.

Hal­ton po­lice con­tinue to look for a sec­ond sus­pect cap­tured on store sur­veil­lance. He is de­scribed as a white man, be­tween 40 and 50 years old, with dark hair. He was wear­ing sun­glasses, a blue jacket, dark jeans and a check­ered shirt.
