The Easter event was smeared with poop

RE: Negligent pet owners

-

I attended the recent Winona Park Easter Egg Hunt as part of a group doing the barbecue. We set up the barbecues in the pavilion and with the help of youth volunteers, tables were set up. I was really saddened to see several dog poop bags scattered on the floor of the pavilion. Unfortunately I stepped back onto one, and was not impressed to have it open onto the bottom of my boot. The volunteers had stood the tables against one of the pillars in the pavilion and then opened them and set them up. What we didn’t know however, was that one of these tables ended up with dog poop on the edge of it as well! When we moved the tables to where we needed to put them … my hand ended up covered with dog poop.

However this wasn’t even the worst of it. Someone smeared dog poop on one of the pillars and on another pillar there was yet another dog poop bag stuck to the wall. What kind of person would stoop so low? I would like to think this was not the work of one of the dog owners but a prank by very bored people. However, I do fault any dog owner who leaves these poop bags on the ground after picking up after their pet.

I am just thankful that none of the youngsters were exposed to this mess! Louise Deziel, Stoney Creek
