City postponing Saturday’s compost giveaways

The City of Hamilton has postponed its compost giveaways originally scheduled for May 6 because of the weather.

The dates and locations are now: May 13 Joe Sams Leisure Park, 752 Centre Rd., Waterdown

Jones Road Public Works Yard, 349 Jones Rd., Stoney Creek May 27 Rennie/Brampton Public Works Yard, 2200 Brampton St., Hamilton

Rymal Road Public Works Yard, 308 Rymal Rd. E., Hamilton

The compost comes from residents’ yard waste the city collects throughout the year and is intended for home use only, not for commercial businesses.

Residents are asked to bring their own buckets or containers and shovels to the giveaway location beginning at 7 a.m.
