Girl, 11, offered ride by stranger in Caledonia, OPP ask for help
CALEDONIA — Haldimand County OPP are trying to track down a stranger who reportedly offered an 11-year-old girl a ride in a minivan.
The girl was walking on Wigton Street when a grey minivan stopped in front of her between 3:05 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Friday, police said.
A man got out and asked if she wanted a ride. When she said no, the man got back into the minivan, drove south on Wigton and west on Haddington Street.
The driver, about 30 years old, is a cleanshaven, tanned white man who’s about 5foot-11. He wore glasses on top of his head and has short, dark hair. He was wearing black pants and a blue tank stop.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122. To provide tips anonymously, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
