Rockin’ the Wa­ter­front Pier 4 Clas­sic Car nights

Af­ter last week’s de­but evening kick-off to the clas­sic car cruise scene at Pier 4 Park, next week’s May 24th theme night is ‘Odd­ball & Crazy Cre­ations’ night from 5 p.m. to dusk . Pre­sented by Knight Kruiz­ers & Hamil­ton Shriners Lodge plus ‘Fi­bre­new In­dus­tries ve­hi­cle up­hol­stery re­pair spe­cial­ist’. Bring what you have cre­ated fin­ished or un­fin­ished no mat­ter the year. All other clas­sics are lim­ited to pre-1980. The band, ‘Sloppy Jalopy’ will be on stage start­ing at 6:00 p.m. with ‘Viva Ve­nessa’ singing dur­ing the in­ter­mis­sion. This is all part of the City of Hamil­ton’s “Mu­sic in the City” pro­gram spon­sored in part by the Hamil­ton Spec­ta­tor, and other ma­jor spon­sors, CARSTAR Col­li­sion & Glass and CARSTAR Ex­press, Moun­tain Tire, Samp­son Trans­mis­sion Re­pair, Dewildt Chrysler deal­er­ship, Top-Qual­ity Trans­mis­sion Inc., Lubri­care lube shop, Per­for­mance Im­prove­ments, Mr. Fros­tee Freeze Ice Cream, Hamil­ton Trans­mis­sion Ex­perts, BSRac­ing Diecast Mod­els, Ex­treme Sand­wich food com­pany.

Pier 4 Park is at the northen end of James Street North. It is free to en­ter but if you do­nate a loonie you’ll get a ticket from the Shriners to have a chance of win­ning one of six gate prizes. There is also a Shriners 50/50 draw. There is free pub­lic park­ing for reg­u­lar ve­hi­cles on the left be­fore the park en­trance. Bring a chair and sit in front of the large dance floor and stage and en­joy the mu­sic, or chat to the own­ers of the clas­sic cars.
