A DAY ON THE BRIDGE ART AUCTION

-

Local artists are donating their work to the cause celebrated by the A Day on the Bridge event – the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System.

More than 20 paintings will be up for silent auction with previews and bidding beginning June 1, 7 to 9 p.m.; June 2 and 3, 12 to 7 p.m. at 370 Wilson St. E., Ancaster (the plaza housing Cavallo Nero restaurant).

Bidding will continue from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, during the A Day on the Bridge event, which will see the McQuesten High Level Bridge closed to vehicle traffic and become the site of music, theatre, dancing and more, culminating in a fundraising gourmet dinner.

Proceeds from the silent auction will go to raise funds to purchase land that will become part of the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System, a protected, permanent and connected natural land sanctuary from the harbour to the escarpment.
