HAMIL­TON OLDTIMERS’ BASE­BALL OR­GA­NI­ZA­TION Tom Manuel banged out six hits, Bert Schenk had five and Chris Fraser drove in six runs as the Tigers beat the Car­di­nals 15-3 in one of two sea­son open­ers in the HOBO’s 55-plus di­vi­sion. Dave Cum­mins had four hits while Har­vey Sahker col­lected four RBIs for the Tigers. Keith Howard and Todd Breedon each had two hits for the Car­di­nals. In the other sea­son opener, Tom McGrat­ton, Frank Simioni and Ted Pritchard each had three hits to lead the A’s to a 14-4 win over the Dodgers. John McGrath and Clyde Gold­smith each had two hits for the Dodgers.

HAMIL­TON SMASH Hamil­ton Smash 15U Teal team won a gold medal in the 15U Di­vi­sion 1 Tier 3 in the Na­tional Vol­ley­ball Cham­pi­onships this past week­end in Water­loo. The team only dropped one game in the en­tire tour­na­ment. They won a thriller in the gold medal game over Aigles from Que­bec with the scores of 26-24, 27-25. SPORTHAMILTON Multi-sport In­door Year-Round Train­ing and Com­pe­ti­tion Sport Fa­cil­ity in Hamil­ton sur­vey. Step 1 in get­ting this fa­cil­ity built in Hamil­ton is to con­firm that the Hamil­ton sport com­mu­nity sup­ports this idea and there is a need for one. Your in­put is needed for this to hap­pen. Please com­plete the fea­si­bil­ity study sur­vey (it will take five to 10 min­utes of your time) found at and click on “fea­si­bil­ity study” or the photo of Ron Fox­croft (hon­orary chair­per­son of this project).
