RE: Trumps fate rests with supporters (May 23, thespec.com)

It doesn’t matter. No matter what President Trump does he will always be wrong. No matter how much he succeeds, to the media he will never be a success. Show me the crimes allegedly committed by President Trump. Megan McCardle, the author of this hit piece on Trump presents no evidence of any crimes. So far Trump’s only crime is the fact that he is a Republican and he is not Hillary Clinton.

On the other hand, let’s consider the record of his predecessor, the often praised and never criticized former president Barack Obama. President Obama’s administration was no stranger to scandal but you wouldn’t have known it from the treatment he received from the media. How easy it is to forget Operation Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS targeting political opponents, the Clinton Foundation and influence peddling. On and on it went without any talk of impeachment or Watergate.

How soon some forget the meeting of Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the tarmac in Phoenix just days before FBI Director Comey would announce that he would not press charges against Hillary Clinton over her private email server. What? No charges of obstruction of justice? Did President Obama influence director Comey to drop the charges against Hillary Clinton? Perhaps director Comey will produce his notes on any meeting he had with President Obama?

When it comes to President Trump, the media has totally abandoned any pretense of journalistic objectivity. Harold Pomerantz, Dundas
