Enough with the backyard fireworks

RE: Why we should ban backyard fireworks — Part 2 (May 24)

Here in Caledonia where I live, it is not uncommon for fireworks to be heard just about every weekend during the summer.

My last dog (Molson, RIP) would cower in the darkest, furthest corner of our basement under whatever he could find to hide under to get away from the drone of those pops and screams of the fireworks.

I’ve often been awakened by this regular annoyance (let’s just say I don’t need to be up late.)

I honestly get the town-sanctioned displays, in fact, enjoy them, but I concur: ban the rest. Suzanne Kucheran, Caledonia
