THE TREWS

Hamilton-based rock quartet The Trews are the headliners Thursday night, 9:45, at the Burlington Sound of Music Festival at Spencer Smith Park. This band, originally from Nova Scotia, has been making quality rock ’n’ roll for more than 15 years and has the hits to prove it, including “Not Ready to Go,” “Poor Old Broken Hearted Me,” and “Highway of Heroes.” Opening are Wintersleep (8:15 p.m.) and The Reason (7 p.m.).

USS

USS stands for Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker, which doesn’t begin to describe this duo’s over-the-top brand of party music. The last time USS played the Burlington Sound of Music Festival in 2013, Spencer Smith Park was transformed into a dance party. USS headlines the TD stage at 9:45 p.m. Friday, with Reuben and the Dark opening at 8 p.m. At the Burlington Hyundai stage that night Celtic rockers Mudmen and The Mahones are playing.

TERRA LIGHTFOOT

Hamilton roots-rocker Terra Lightfoot has had a huge year since releasing her album “Everytime My Mind Runs Wild,” touring with Blue Rodeo, recorded a live concert with the National Academy Orchestra and performed across North America and Europe. Lightfoot performs at the Sound of Music Cogeco stage (Burlington City Hall) Saturday at 3:45 p.m. Hamilton’s Laura Cole opens the afternoon on the same stage at 1 p.m.

THE ROAD HAMMERS

The Road Hammers are the Juno-winning triumvirate of Jason McCoy, Clayton Bellamy and Chris Byrne. They play outlaw country rock, very loud and wild. The Road Hammers have recently released a new album “The Squeeze” and will be eager to play some new songs when the band headlines the Sound of Music OLG stage Saturday at 9:30 p.m. Country fans may also want to take in Doc Walker on the OLG at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

FINGER ELEVEN

It’s been 20 years since the release of Burlington hard rock outfit Finger Eleven’s breakthrough album “Tip.” The band has since scored huge success with singles like “Paralyzer” and “One Thing.” Finger Eleven returns to Burlington Sound of Music Sunday, headlining the TD stage at 5:30 p.m. Vancouver-based indie rockers The Odds open for Finger Eleven at 3:30 p.m. A good way to celebrate Father’s Day.
