Many witnesses left to question after fatal fire

Quebec police say they have many more witnesses to question during their investigation into a suspicious fire over the weekend at a seniors’ residence that left one dead. Provincial police Sgt. Marc Tessier says investigators arrested a 44-year-old man Sunday, but released him after questioning. A 94-year-old woman died after the fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the Oasis seniors’ residence in Terrebonne, just north of Montreal. Twelve people were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
