Khadr’s charter rights were violated

-

RE: Omar Khadr

In regards to Omar Khadr receiving a settlement of $10 million dollars from the federal government, he is not getting it for his actions in Afghanistan. The settlement is because the federal government under Stephen Harper and Jean Chrétien violated his Charter Rights and Freedoms multiple times according to the Supreme Court. He was basically abandoned to U.S. ‘care’ in Guantanamo Bay, denied access to a lawyer, and was told to either plead guilty to murder, despite being a child soldier, or he’d be held indefinitely without trial while the government that was supposed to help him did nothing.
