Miss­ing woman’s body found

OAKVILLE — A 27-year-old Oakville woman, who went miss­ing on Fri­day, July 7, has been con­firmed dead by Ni­a­gara po­lice.

Last Fri­day, Hal­ton Re­gional Po­lice is­sued an alert to the me­dia for Safa Mush­taq, who’d been re­ported miss­ing by her fam­ily in Oakville and who had been last seen on foot in the area of Dun­das Street and Neya­gawa Boule­vard at about 5 p.m.

On Tues­day, July 11, Hal­ton po­lice is­sued a me­dia re­lease stat­ing Mush­taq had been “lo­cated” in Ni­a­gara Falls.

Hal­ton po­lice re­ferred fur­ther in­quiries to Ni­a­gara po­lice.

On Wed­nes­day, Stephanie Sabourin, me­dia re­la­tions spe­cial­ist, Ni­a­gara Re­gional Po­lice, con­firmed to the Oakville Beaver, the miss­ing woman’s body had been lo­cated in the city of Ni­a­gara Falls Mon­day, July 10.

No more de­tails will be pro­vided and foul play is not sus­pected, ac­cord­ing to Sabourin.
