Man charged over alleged attack on sex trade worker

A 28-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with aggravated sexual assault over an alleged attack on a sex trade worker in May.

Police say a woman was attacked and sexually assaulted by a man in the area of Barton Street East and Milton Avenue in the early hours of May 14.

After the alleged attack, the woman flagged down two police officers and was taken to hospital with “significant injuries.”

Phillip Rene Albert, 28, was arrested July 27 and charged with aggravated sexual assault and f ailure to comply with a court order.
