Methinks this writer protests too much

RE: I am not Islamophobic (July 19)

To letter the writer of this letter: If you are often being told you are Islamophobic, perhaps arguing over what a “phobia” is should not be your main concern. Maybe you should examine your behaviour and what you’re saying that makes people feel you are Islamophobic.

You also mention that it was not the fact your intruder was gay that bothered you, it was simply that he broke in and assaulted you.

Then why even mention he was gay? The colour of his hair didn’t bother you, but you didn’t mention that, the shirt he wore didn’t bother you, but that wasn’t mentioned either. I find it strange you mention he was gay and follow with that his being gay doesn’t bother you.

Reading your letter between the lines I can say that you show clear signs of religious intolerance and homophobia.

If you prefer people use those words to describe your behaviour I’m sure they will accommodate. Don Holland, Hamilton
