Suspicious packages not dangerous

-

Hamilton police have concluded the investigation into two “suspicious” packages found in Canada Post mailboxes Friday after finding they were not explosives. The packages found in mailboxes on Main Street East, near Huxley Avenue and Cameron Street, saw an almost two-kilometre stretch of the road closed for hours Friday with a bomb robot brought in to destroy them. Staff Sgt. Scott Moreton confirmed they were found not to be explosives but couldn’t comment further on what they were or why they had been deemed suspicious. Police identified the person responsible for putting the packages in the mailboxes, questioned him and have released him without charge.
