May Trump’s inhumane ban fail

RE: Trumps ban on trans military personnel

-

It was all I could do to shake my head when I learned about Trump’s show of discrimination toward anyone trans and the number of stereotypical ideas he’s trying to cling to erase the fact that they are human.

His desperation to believe anyone trans, whether according to gender identity and/or sex, adds unnecessary cost to the medical budget is easy to disprove through some basic math.

According to Pentagon studies, the cost of providing medically necessary transition-related care involving trans service members would amount to one one-hundredth of 1 per cent of the military’s health care budget. Hardly an enormous sum, right?

He seems to think any trans people who serve reduce the readiness of the military to help, too. Excuse me? They help ensure everything’s set to get going. His military would be smaller by 4,000 members if he didn’t have anyone trans set to serve.

He can freak about “sensitivity training” or anything linked to being ‘politically correct’ but long run, all anyone needs to do to learn that kind of lesson is to genuinely listen to people and honour their vocabulary, however odd, counterintuitive … insert any other adjective you want it may feel to you. Treat others as they want to be treated.

Kindergarten is easy, other than if you’re egocentric and always think you’re right, it appears.

May Trump’s initiative meet failure or minimal success. No matter anyone’s pieces and/or identities they should be able to serve their nation if they want. Amy Soule, Hamilton
