Burglar flees after finding resident in Oakville home
OAKVILLE — Halton police are investigating after a would-be burglar fled an Oakville residence upon realizing the homeowner was there.
Police say a man kicked in the front door of the home on Joshuas Creek Drive near Upper Middle Road around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
The homeowner was on the second floor, which prompted the intruder to dart. Nothing was stolen.
No suspect description is available at this time.
Police are also looking for someone who broke into a storage container at a North Service Road East near Joshuas Creek Drive.
On Aug. 8, police said workers at the site discovered the padlock had been cut off the container. Items including a pump and generator had been stolen. The stolen property is worth about $2,000.
Police said the fence around the construction site was not damaged and it is believed the culprits may have climbed over it. No suspect descriptions are available at this time.
