RE/MAX Escarpment Raises over $4000 for Children’s Miracle Network

-

2017 is a celebration of the 25th year partnership between RE/MAX and the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). In 2012, RE/MAX established August as the Month of Miracles – a month in which we bring attention to, and raise funds for this wonderful organization.

On Thursday, August 10th, local real estate leaders, RE/MAX Escarpment Realty Inc., Brokerage hosted their 5th annual BBQ Fundraiser in support of the CMN. At RE/MAX Escarpment, we hold this organization near and dear to our hearts, and are proud to offer annual events such as the BBQ as an opportunity for our agents and staff to give back.

The day dawned beautiful and sunny and over 175 people braved the heat to support this event. With the RE/MAX Balloon in the background grabbing attention, creating excitement, and giving rides, spirits were high, as all enjoyed food provided by Taste of Vincenzo (porchetta, chicken, ribs, summer salads), entertainment by a local Latin Combo, the Caribbean Club Trio led by Zack Preston, and Dairy Queen Blizzards for all (DQ Miracle Treat Day was the same day, also in support of the CMN).

In all, RE/MAX Escarpment raised over $4000 for the CMN at this event. We were thrilled to be joined by Jennifer Laughton (VP Development McMaster Children’s Hospital Fundraising Council) and Christina Deveau (Manager, Partner Experience, CMN). It was a pleasure to welcome them to our festivities for the afternoon. Nancy Sheffield (Director Children’s Miracle Network Programs & Special Projects) was also instrumental in helping us organize this event. We also added 5 new contributors to the Miracle Home program, whereby agents donate on a per transaction basis to the CMN – thus creating additional funds that will directly benefit sick children in Hamilton and Toronto.

We would like to thank Ryan Book, Sales Representative at our Ancaster location, and owner of the DQ at 2190 Rymal Road who personally delivered Blizzards for all. We would also like to recognize Susan Cross and her team from Cross Canada Balloons for helping the iconic RE/MAX Balloon be, once again, a part of our celebration.

RE/MAX has had an exclusive real estate affiliation with the CMN for 25 years, and RE/MAX members have raised more than $100 million for this non-profit organization that provides state-of-the-art, life-saving care for children. The program includes the option for agents to donate to the CMN on a per transaction basis, and in our area, funds raised go directly to the McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton or SickKids in Toronto. RE/MAX Escarpment agents have contributed a total of over $400,000 company-wide since our partnership began.

Conrad Zurini, Broker of Record spoke of the value of events like this. “Company-wide events like this speak to the pulse of our company culture of giving back, and partnering with institutions of excellence like McMaster Children’s Hospital and SickKids.”
