Coalition has ‘no inherent bias’

-

RE: Coalition paints the West as an enemy

The letter alleging a bias of the Hamilton Coalition to Stop the War because of our opposition to arms sales to Saudi Arabia presents no argument to counter what are the facts presented in The Spec last Saturday. Our letter commended the editorial position of The Spectator.

Instead of an argument Chris Asimoudis only engaged in an ad hominem attack (to the person) on our organization, based on misinformation, and presented no sound counter arguments because he has none.

The Hamilton Coalition to Stop the War has no inherent bias against or for the West or East, North or South and supports only the right policies that support peace and justice.

The author’s time would be better spent criticizing the Canadian government’s arms sales to Saudi Arabia, which is truly one of the most repressive and undemocratic regimes on the face of the earth, one of the biggest exporters of terrorism worldwide, interferes in the internal affairs of neighbouring countries, and is currently engaged in a genocidal war against its impoverished neighbour Yemen.

The secular and democratically elected government of Syria, whatever its faults, looks saintly in comparison to the barbaric theocratic Saudi dictatorship which exists only because its stupendous oil wealth and which it squanders on weapons purchases, repressing its own population and aggression against other countries.
