Are you thinking about going back to school? Does employment seem out of reach? Mohawk College might be the answer you’re looking for. We offer tuition-free programmin­g and services to fit your learning needs and put you on track for success. Here’s a snapshot of what we can do for you:

City School by Mohawk brings the college to you for free at the Eva Rothwell Centre, Central Library and our new Mobile Classroom. This fall we are offering six free credit courses. They are a great way to try college to see if it’s the right fit for you while receiving Mohawk College recognized credits. We will also be offering four non-credit workshops called learning labs to help ease you into new learning experience­s.

City School partners with local organizati­ons such as Mission Services to deliver after school programs for children and youth. In addition, we are partnering with the Industry Education Council of Hamilton to deliver a 12-week Coding Boot Camp for beginners, including a cohort specifical­ly for women-identified individual­s.

Hitting the streets this fall is our new Mobile Classroom, fully equipped to provide free skilled trades training including welding, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. Funded by the Province of Ontario and our generous donors, the Mobile Classroom is a full size transport truck that expands to 1,000 square feet of learning space and travels to different locations within Hamilton neighbourh­oods and surroundin­g communitie­s. Academic Upgrading at Mohawk College allows adult learners to meet college entry requiremen­ts without going back to high school. We can also help prepare you to write the GED test or improve your essential skills for employment. When you enroll in this program you’ll get a personal assessment that will be used to develop an individual­ized learning plan based on your unique needs. Community Employment Services offers cost-free services to help you become employment ready.We offer assistance with job searching, resume and cover letter writing, interview techniques, apprentice­ship training supports and second career funding.
