$10,000 in vandalism to school
Norfolk County OPP are asking the public to help them find whoever caused $10,000 worth of vandalism to an elementary school this past summer.
Police say the culprits broke into St. Bernard of Clairvaux School on Washington Street in Waterford on Aug. 31. Police say the rampage took place between about 1 and 2 a.m.
The intruders trashed desks, book shelves, trophies and electronics. They also tried to rip a sink off a bathroom wall, which caused a part of the school to flood, police said in a release Tuesday.
They also vandalized the principal’s office, staff room and kitchen.
In total, the cost of the damage is estimated at $10,000, police said.
Investigators hope video surveillance will help them identify whoever broke into the school.
In the meantime, anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122; or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-2228477 to offer tips anonymously.
