The number of consecutiv­e weeks the Sarnia Sting have been ranked the No. 1 team in the country. The squad, which boasts a 15-3 record, tops the OHL in several categories, including points (30), winning percentage (0.833) and goals per game (5.22). Oddly, it’s also allowed the most shots in the league, at 36.4 per contest.

The number of games NHL first-rounder Owen Tippett played for the Florida Panthers before he was returned to the Mississaug­a Steelheads Monday. The 18-year-old forward from Peterborou­gh had one goal and a minus-6 rating in those starts.

The number of hat-tricks recorded by 20-year-old Steelheads forward Albert Michnac last weekend. The Czech import, who was released by the Guelph Storm at the end of last season, was named OHL Player of the Week after scoring eight goals in three games.

The cost, in dollars, of a reserved seat for next month’s outdoor game between the Ottawa 67’s and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Gatineau Olympiques. The game was announced Wednesday and is the third of its kind in OHL history. In 2013, the league held two other outdoor games in Michigan, including a matchup between the London Knights and Plymouth Whalers that drew 26,384 fans — a CHL record.

Not counting Thursday’s result, the number of wins racked up by Team OHL in 28 Canada Russia Series appearance­s. Overall, the guys from Ontario have a 23-4-1 record against the visiting world junior candidates since the six-game exhibition series was first held in 2003.

The number of title partners the series has had over the past 15 years. It was initially the RE/MAX Canada Russia Challenge before becoming the ADT Canada Russia Challenge from 20014 to 2008 and the Subway Super Series from 2009 to 2014. In 2016, after a year without a sponsor, it was named the CIBC Canada Russia Series — that’s how it’s still known today.

This year’s series also stops in Swift Current, Owen Sound, Sudbury, Charlottet­own and Moncton, which, if you take the shortest route, would amount to a 5,426-kilometre drive through five provinces and six states.

The number of games Barrie Colts forward and top NHL prospect Andrei Svechnikov has missed since breaking his hand in mid-October. How good is this guy? Despite being sidelined, the Russian import, who underwent surgery to fix the injury last week, continues to lead all OHL rookies in scoring with 10 goals and 14 points.

The number of points scored by Svechnikov’s teammate Ryan Suzuki at the end of the preliminar­y portion of the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge — the most among homegrown players. The OHL rookie, who was picked first overall by the Colts in this year’s priority selection, had two goals and three assists for Canada Red going into Thursday’s quarter-final against Canada Black.
