Holiday house tour

The Junior League of Hamilton-Burlington is celebratin­g its 35th annual Holiday House Tour of Distinctiv­e Homes. The weekend tours features three homes — in Burlington, Waterdown and Ancaster — and will also include hands-on classes, decorating ideas, food trucks and contests. The Royal Botanical Gardens’ Holiday Gift Market offers the perfect time to take in all the festive sights and sounds that the holiday season has to offer. Looking for the perfect gift? HPO Remembers

Robotics

The annual STEMley Cup Campionshi­p high school robotics competitio­n is on at St. Mary Catholic school, 200 Whitney Ave., on Saturday. Presented by ArcelorMit­tal Dofasco, the event involves 30 teams from Ontario, Michigan and New York. Open to the public, qualificat­ion matches begin at 8:30 a.m. with eliminatio­n matches from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m.

Pitch in

Choose one or both watershed cleanups this weekend. There’s a Red Hill Watershed Cleanup Saturday. Meet at the end of Angus Road (east of Selway Court) off Quigley Road to help clear a section of Davis Creek. A Cootes Watershed Cleanup is on Sunday. Meet at 64 Hatt St., Dundas, in the back parking lot on the left as you face the building. Both cleanups run from 1 to 4 p.m. Terrain to suit all, including water work.
