United Way Halton & Hamilton appoints new CEO, sets $10M target
The United Way Halton & Hamilton has appointed Brad Park as its new president and chief executive officer.
Park, a resident and native of Cambridge, was the CEO for United Way Oakville prior to the springtime amalgamation of the Hamilton and Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills United Ways into the United Way Halton & Hamilton.
In the combined new United Way, Park served as the chief development officer until his new appointment on Monday.
Park, 48, has 23 years of experience with United Ways, starting off in Cambridge and North Dumfries for 15 years.
As new Halton & Hamilton CEO, “I would love to see us increase the profile of the United Way in all our communities, make progress in solving their pressing problems, and to increase our support in the community.”
The amalgamated United Way has the same number of staff as the previous United Ways combined, but many have changed roles to avoid duplication of work and to be more visible out in the community, Park said. The amalgamation took effect last April 1.
The campaign target this year for the United Way Halton & Hamilton is $10 million.
Park said whatever amount is raised in Hamilton will be used in Hamilton to assist agency and service programs funded through United Way.
Park’s CEO predecessor Jeff Vallentin is leaving the United Way to pursue an administrative executive team position at Sheridan College in Oakville on Dec. 1.
