Some sizzling Fish, an opportunistic Hound and a couple of hotdogs highlight our weekly OHL by-the-numbers roundup. 2

The number of game-winning goals by Michael McLeod since returning to the Mississauga Steelheads — two games ago. The 19-year-old, who was recently sent back to the OHL club by the New Jersey Devils, made his season debut in a 4-2 win over Oshawa last Friday.

9-2

The record racked up by Mississauga over its last 11 games. The Fish, who go into the weekend in second place in the Central Division, were a cool 2-9 to start the season. The addition of McLeod and Owen Tippett, who has three goals and eight points since his return Nov. 10, has played a big part in the turnaround, as has this next stat.

27.6

The per cent of power play opportunities the Steelheads have capitalized on this season — tops in the OHL. Mississauga has 29 goals on 105 chances, including eight by Nic Hague and five each by Albert Michnac and Jacob Cascagnette. Meanwhile, Ryan McLeod has kicked in 11 power play assists, one more than teammate Jacob Moverare.

10

The number of short-handed goals scored by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds — a league high. Oddly, they also have one of the OHL’s less impressive penalty kills. It started the weekend at 77.7 per cent, or 15th in the loop.

3

The number of short-handed goals scored by Hounds forward Boris Katchouk this season. That’s more than five teams (Hamilton, Niagara, London, Sudbury and Kingston) and as many as four more (Mississauga, Kitchener, North Bay and Windsor).

2.24

The number of points per game scored by Jordan Kyrou, which puts the Sarnia Sting forward — the current OHL points leader — on pace for 152 this season. Erie Otters grad Alex DeBrincat won the league scoring title with 127 points (2.02 per game) in 2016-17.

80

The height, in inches, of Barrie Colts forward Curtis Douglas — the OHL’s tallest player. The 17-year-old from Oakville rises 14 inches above the league’s shortest player, teammate Lucas Chiodo. The latter has the upper hand on the stats sheet, though, with 25 points to Douglas’s 13.

3

The number of defenceman among the OHL’s top 20 scorers. Owen Sound’s Sean Durzi is tied for fifth with 32 points, Guelph’s Ryan Merkley is tied for 15th with 27, and London’s Evan Bouchard is tied for 20th with 25.

2

The number of times Bulldogs’ goaltender Kaden Fulcher is featured on this week’s highlight reel of the OHL’s top saves. He stoned two Petes — Jonathan Ang and Pavel Gogolev. Check them out at ontariohockeyleague.com.

1.61

The goals-against average of Fulcher’s backup, Nick Donofrio, in five games this season. Most recently, the 18-year-old with the 0.945 save percentage and 3-0-0-1 record backstopped the Bulldogs to a 5-2 win over the 67’s Saturday. He had his first OHL shutout against Windsor three weeks back.

5

The number of consecutive multi-point games by Cliff Pu, the reigning CHL Player of the Week. The London forward notched five goals and 10 assists in wins over Flint, Guelph, Saginaw and Windsor and a loss to Kitchener.
